SC Farm Bureau Women's Program

The Women's Program supports and adds strength to the overall mission of SCFB. Their activities "tell the farm story" through education, leadership development, legislative activities, youth programs, and many promotional events. The Women's programs on the county, state and national levels provide funding for Ag in the Classroom, scholarships, and agricultural research.

A state Women's Conference provides seminars and workshops on issues of special concern to agriculture. Annual district meetings provide training, issue and event updates, as well as informal sharing on the state and county level.

Food Check-Out Day celebrates the day each year (usually during early February) when Americans have earned enough disposable income to pay for the average family's yearly supply of food.

Commodity specific promotions educate consumers about locally produced food, fiber, and plant materials.

A Country Store at the SCFB Annual Meeting each December showcases donated arts and craft items for sale with proceeds going to the SC Ag-in-the-Classroom Fund and the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture.

The Youth Leadership Conference provides leadership training and team building skills to rising high school juniors and seniors. This summer the conference will be held at  Columbia College in Columbia, SC.

The South Carolina Farm Bureau Youth Ambassador Scholarship Program is designed to surface young leaders to tell the farm story.  It is also designed to display to the public that interest in agriculture is alive and well. Ambassador contestants will be judged on their written applications, essays, and one-on-one interviews. The SCFB Youth Ambassadors will receive a college scholarship fund in the amount of $1500.00.  Ambassadors will make selected appearances on behalf of agriculture and Farm Bureau.

Talent contests develop self-esteem while recognizing outstanding entertainment skills.

Legislative awareness encourages women to become involved as grassroots lobbyists to support state and national legislation which may have a direct impact on agriculture or rural families.
