SC Farm Bureau
President Re-elected for a Fifth Term
Myrtle
Beach, SC – The voting delegate body, representing South
Carolina family farmers, unanimously reelected Sumter County
farmer David Winkles for a fifth two-year term as president of
the SC Farm Bureau Federation (SCFB) at their 62nd annual
meeting in Myrtle Beach. Winkles is the fifth person to hold
the CEO position of Farm Bureau since the organization’s
formation in 1944.
As Farm
Bureau president, Winkles serves as the chief executive
officer of the Farm Bureau Federation, a non-profit
agricultural advocacy organization. He also serves as the
president of the SC Farm Bureau Insurance Company, the Farm
Bureau Services Corporation, and the Farm Bureau Marketing
Association.
Winkles
continues to farm his family’s Oswego, SC soybean, cotton,
corn, and wheat farm. He also serves as vice president of the
national Farm Bureau Bank and he is on the board of directors
of the American Farm Bureau Federation and the Southern Farm
Bureau Insurance Company based in Jackson, Ms.
Winkles
presided over the business of the three-day annual meeting
during which the next year’s priorities and policies were
decided.
SCFB is a
membership organization that works to promote agriculture and
rural lifestyles in South Carolina.
