Lee County Young Farm
Family Honored
Tyler and Keisha Epps of Lee County have recently been
recognized as finalists in the South Carolina Farm Bureau
Achievement Award for 2005.
The Epps were one of three families honored during award
ceremonies at the recent South Carolina Farm Bureau Annual
Meeting in Myrtle Beach. The award is given each year,
recognizing a young farmer or farm family for outstanding
achievements in agriculture and in the community.
The Epps produce poultry near the Woodrow community of Lee
County.
As finalists in the state contest, the Epps received a $1000
cash award compliments of the Southern Farm Bureau Casualty
Insurance, a gift from the SC Farm Bureau Products Program,
and a trip to the SCFB Annual Meeting in Myrtle Beach..
In presenting the award, SCFB President David Winkles said,
“South Carolina is fortunate to have so many outstanding young
farm leaders. The Epps have demonstrated their dedication,
enthusiasm, and interest in agriculture. Their continued
success will mean much to their communities and to South
Carolina. We are proud to have them as South Carolina Farm
Bureau members and as finalists in the Achievement Award
contest.”
The SC Farm Bureau Federation is a non-profit organization
designed to promote the interests of agriculture in South
Carolina. There are more than 130,000 member families
statewide, with more than 35,000 of those directly involved in
South Carolina agriculture.
The Young Farmer and Rancher Program is designed to encourage
farmers between the ages of 18 and 35 to become active in Farm

Lee County Farm Family Receives Award
Tyler and Keisha Epps were honored recently by the South
Carolina Farm Bureau Federation. The Epps were chosen as
finalists in the Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award
for 2005. Sons Tanner, 4, and Jase, 6 months, and daughter
Ansleigh, 2 , join their parents in the photo. The Epps
operate a poultry farm in the Woodrow community of Lee County.
