Fairfield County Residents Appointed to State Farm Bureau Committee

COLUMBIA, SC – Fairfield County residents Lee and Laura Haddon were recently appointed to the South Carolina Farm Bureau (SCFB) Young Farmer and Rancher Committee by SCFB President David Winkles.

Winkles said, “We are fortunate to have young leaders like Marion and Brenda represent their area’s young farmers on our state committee. We look forward to their development as long-serving leaders of the Farm Bureau family.”

The Haddons manage a commercial cow/calf operation in the Ridgeway area of Fairfield County. In addition, Lee serves on the Fairfield County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and Laura is an Ag in the Classroom presenter.

While serving on the SC Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher Committee, the Haddons will have the opportunity to participate in leadership development programs, share concerns of South Carolina farmers with policy makers in Washington, D.C. and at the Statehouse. They will also represent South Carolina at the 2006 American Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher Conference in Des Moines, Iowa.

The South Carolina Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher Program serves young farmers between the ages of 18 and 35.  Young farmers interested in becoming involved in the program may contact Faith Lawrimore, SCFB Young Farmer and Rancher Program Coordinator at 803-936-4287 or visit our website at
